Revan, once Darth Revan, holds a unique position in Star Wars lore, his story straddling the line between official canon and the Legends category. Revered by a dedicated subset of fans, especially those familiar with Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Revan's tale sparks debate about its rightful place in the universe's history.
Revan's journey begins with his discontent with the Jedi Order during the Mandalorian Wars, leading him to form the Jedi Crusaders, later known as the Revanchists. Victorious in battle alongside his ally Alek (Malak), Revan's actions earned grudging acknowledgment from the Jedi Council.
However, triumph turned to tragedy when Revan and Malak fell to the dark side under Darth Vitiate's influence, becoming Darth Revan and Darth Malak, and founding a Sith Empire. Their ensuing conflict with the Jedi, known as the Jedi Civil War, culminated in Malak's betrayal and Revan's capture by Jedi Knight Bastila Shan.
Revan's memory wiped, he served aboard the Endar Spire until its destruction by the Sith. Rescued by Shan, Revan embarked on a journey of redemption, defeating Malak and earning the title of Prodigal Knight. Yet, haunted by his past, Revan ventured into the Unknown Regions, only to be captured and imprisoned by the Sith.
Even death couldn't end Revan's tale. His essence divided, part joined the Force while the other persisted in corporeal form, leading the Sith cult, Order of Revan, in a misguided quest to annihilate the Sith Emperor. Despite his eventual success, aided by allies from both the Republic and Empire, Revan's ultimate destiny was to become one with the Force.
